What does a toner ACTUALLY do?
When we hear the word ‘Tone’, we think Abs & everything fab in the fitness world. Instead, the art of toning in skincare is somewhat of a big deal…
What does a Toner do?
A facial toner helps to settle the skin’s natural pH, whilst simultaneously cleansing it, preventing it from having bacteria, germs and other nasties enter through the skin’s dermal layer. Toner also preps the skin for further skin routines. Toner helps to penetrate following moisturisers and serums deeper into the skin, helping to unlock their full potential.
When do you use a toner?
Applying toner should come after washing/cleansing your face with a cleanser such as our Exfoliating Cleansing Milk. Pat dry your face, then apply a few pumps worth of our Purifying Toner, to help seal and cleanse the skin. Toner is applied before serums and moisturisers to help prepare the skin for make-up, moisturisers and primers; as they reduce pore size and block oil build-up. Applying a luxurious moisturiser such as our Hydrating Day Cream or Regenerative Night Cream, can help to secure extra moisture and hydration, more than the product’s use alone.
Benefits of incorporating a toner to your skin regime.
